Judy Womack is a native of Troup. She looks back at a
time before her birth that is a exciting part of Troup’s history. The
discovery of oil that drives the economy of Troup and Smith County
during the depression and before the start of World War II. The boomtown
of Troup is reported in the pages of The Troup Banner which tells of
many bridge parties, baseball games and most importantly oil and oil
field activities. The 18 page index contains the full name of each
person mentioned and localities.
The book is dedicated to those who were in Troup in those days.
