Rusk County Historian, John R. Dulin spent many
years abstracting and compiling the entries for this book on the Rusk
County Probate Files and Records. He used all available records that
still exist in the Rusk County Courthouse. These include the original
Probate Packet Files, the Probate Record Books, the Probate Minute
Books, and some of the District Court Minute Books. The Book is 300
pages with a soft cover. The 29 page index contains the full name of
each probate file and all other surnames mentioned in the entries. John
also provides a list of the Rusk County Judges, District Attorneys,
Attorneys, Sheriffs, and County Clerks during this time period.
The book is dedicated to those whose names appear in
the book, both notable and forgotten; who came and settled Rusk County,
and left a small bit of themselves in the passing.
