Thereason for the TX search is the following excerpt from the 1850 Navarro County,TX Census: page 18 - 37/7: Robert STARK, age 44 b Va; Mary, 38; Samuel J18; Amanda 15; Margaret 13; Robert 11; Constance F; 8, Henry Clay 6; andBell 2. Robert and his son, Samuel, are listed as farmers. Mary and all thechildren were born in Ky. so they obviously left Ky circa 1848/49. Thereare STARKs listed in the 1860 Cooke Co. Searching for the family of EMILY, daughter of Jesse and Elizabeth (LINDSEY)TERRY, born 1826/8 in Alabama. Emily married 1st Alfred ROSS, 1854 in AndersonCo., Texas. After the Indians killed Alford and Isaac ROSS and Frelling ShadrackHIGHTOWER, husband of Sarah Jane TERRY, sister of Emily. Emily married R.J. STANTON 1873 in Jack County. LATTIN.. Adolphus D. LATTIN received patent on one league of land in AndersonCo in Jul 1835. Believed he transferred title to Charles S. TAYLOR the samemonth. WHITE's list of Character Certificates in the General Land Officein item 2003 shows A.D.LATHIN, believed to be misspelling of LATTIN. DidAdolphus live in Anderson Co. or was this just a paper transfer? What isa Character Certificate? Need any info on Adolphus D. LATTIN or A.D.LATHIN.
