Entered the service in August, 1941, trained at Schofield Barracks, T.H., Canton Island and Hawaii; served in Hawaii on Iwo Jima, Saipan, Guam, Tinian and other Islands. Awarded Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, 2 Battle Stars, Air Defense Ribbon.

Harvey K. Burrow, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Burrow. Entered service in Feb., 1939, trained at Ft. Sam Houston, Ft. Benning, Ga., Camp Mackall, N. C., and Howard Field, Panama Canal; served in Australia, New Guinea, France, Belgium, Italy, England, Brazil, Germany and Africa. Awarded Inf. Combat Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Amer. Defense, Asiatic Ribbon, ETO Ribbon, four Battle Stars, Pres. Cit., Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Sgt. James T. Burt, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Burt, attended Whitehouse H.S. Entered Army Air Force in Aug., 1943, trained at Sioux Falls, S. D., Yuma, Ariz.

BURT, WILLIAM R., JR.
Pfc. William R. Burt, Jf,., son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Burt, Sr., husband of the former Betty Jean Spencer, graduated from Tyler H. S. Entered Army in Jan., 1941, trained at Camp Bowie, Camp Barkeley, Camp Howze, and Camp Gruber, Okla.; served in England, France Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany. Awarded Pre-Pearl Harbor Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, ETO Ribbon with five Battle Stars.

BURTON, RONALD D.
Pvt. AAF Ronald D. Burton, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Burton. Entered Army Air Forces in Aug., 1944, trained at Sheppard Field Texas and Scott Field, Ill.; served in U.S.A., awarded Certificate of Merit from Gen. H. H. Arnold. AAF and Good Conduct Medals.

BURTON, ROYCEE.
1st Lt. Royce E. Burton, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Burton, husband of the former Ellen Bitting. Entered Army in September, 1939, trained at Ft. Clark and McIntosh, Texas, Camp Maxey, Texas and Ft. Monmouth, N. J.; served in Ireland, Germany, France, Australia,, Scotland and England. Awarded Bronze Star, five Battle Stars and letter from Scottish Gov. for outstanding service.

BUSHELL, ROBERT M,
S/ Sgt. Robert M. Bushell entered the Army in May, 1943, transferred to U S. Railway Shop Battalion. Served in England, France and Germany.

BUSING, FRIDRICK J.
Pfc. Fridrick J. Busing, husband of the former Matie Parker. Entered the service in November, 1942, trained at Camp Robinson, Ark. and Camp Fannin, Texas.

BUTLER, EDWARD E.
T/5 Edward E. Butler, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Butler, Tyler. Entered the Army in 1942, trained at Camp Harraham, La.; served in England France, Belgium and Germany. Awarded Certificate of Merit and ETO Ribbon with four Battle Stars.

BUTLER,GEORGE H.
1st Sgt. George H Butler son. of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Butler, husband oi Mrs. Maurine Butler. Entered the Marines in 1934; trained, at Parris, S. C. and Camp Pendleton, Cal.; served on Holti, Guam, Okinawa, Guadalcanal and Johnston Island.

Sgt. Wylie Butler, son of J. A. Butler, Troup, husband of former Kathleen Potter, England, attended Troup H.S. Entered Army in Aug. 1942, trained at Camp Wolters, Camp Berkeley and El Paso. Served in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Has four Service Ribbons, six Service Strips, six Battle Stars and one Arrowhead.

BYNUM, JAMES W.
S 2/c (Rdn) James Bynum, son of Mrs. Molly Bynum, attended Tyler Schools. Entered Navy in Sept., 1944, trained in San Diego. Served on Okinawa and in Tokyo Bay aboard the Destroyer Knapp. Has the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon with two Battle Stars.

BYNUM, PERCY G.
Pvt. Percy G. Bynum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Norman, husband of former Mae Lynn Friday. Entered the Army Air Corps in June, 1945, trained at Sheppard Field Texas and Chanute Field, Ill. Discharged in 1945.

BYNUM, JAMES E.
Pfc. James E. Bynum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Bynum, husband of former Dean Allen. Entered the service in July, 1941, trained at Camp Wolters. Served in Honolulu, Australia and New Guinea. Awarded American Def. Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon.
