GEORGE ADAMS FAMILY

George ADAMS, born, 1822, Scotland; died 1907, Tyler, TX, married Sarah ___ born 1828, Alabama; died 1883; both buried Oakwood Cemetery, Tyler, TX. In 1834 he immigrated to the United States. He came to Tyler from North Carolina in the late 1840s was a veteran of the Mexican War. He was in the blacksmith business, first with William Stringfellow, later with his brother James Adams.

  5. John M. ADAMS, born 1864, TX, lived Fort Worth, TX.
  6. Ella W. ADAMS, born 1867, TX, married 1886, Ozni A. BRIGHTWELL, lived Houston, TX.

Mary F. "Mamie" ADAMS, daugher of George Adams and Sarah ____, born 1857, Tyler, TX; died 1953, Tyler, TX; married 1873 Smith Co., TX, Felix M. THOMPSON, born 1851, AL; died 1932, Tyler, TX; both buried Liberty Hill Cemetery, Smith Co., TX. He was a butcher and a livestock dealer.
